Bernadette Thomas Green

Mrs. Bernadette Thomas Green, a native of Mobile, Alabama, passed away May 8, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends.

She was the seventh of eight children born to the union of the late Richard (Inez) Thomas, Sr.,   She is rejoicing in that great fellowship in the sky and bring to a close a generation. She is joining the ranks of her siblings: Andrey Battles, Richard Thomas, Jr., Inez Irby, Mary Paige Thomas, Frank Thomas, Joseph Thomas, and Virdell Bouchelion.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where she served on numerous committees faithfully until her health begin to fail.  She is preceded in death by her husbands, Henderson Green, Sr., and Leon Richmond, Sr.; three sons, Lumunda Green, George Green Sr., and Charles Green Sr.; two daughters-in-law, Cheryl Green, and Mary Richmond; four grandchildren, Kyle Lumumba Green, Sabrina Hall, Selena Hall, and Brittany Green.

She is survived her children, BaKumba V. Green, Henderson (Jacqueline) Green Jr., Leon Richmond Jr., Andre (Diane) Richmond Sr., Bernadette (Adam) Young; twenty-seven grandchildren, one raised as a son, Jeremy C. Green; 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Frances Thomas; brother-in-law, Herone (Mary) Green; a host of nieces and nephews: devoted, Mary (Frank) Hudson, and Audrey Irby; other relatives, Gloria Rankins, Grace Williams, and friends Lillian Dunn and Bernice Russell.
