Darryl Carstarphen, Sr. Obituary

Darryl Wayne Carstarphen, a native of Mobile, Alabama, was born on October 25, 1966, to William and Irma Jean Carstarphen.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two loving and devoted sons, Darryl Wayne Carstarphen, Jr., and Brandon D. Carstarphen (F.N); three beautiful grandchildren, Leila, Ethan, and Madison Carstarphen; three devoted brothers, William Carstarphen, Jr., Andre Maurice Carstarphen; three loving sisters, Denise Ann Hunter, Tynua Renae Hont, and Shantell Y. Carstarphen Young (Carlos); a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends of Mobile, AL and Virginia. 

He was preceded in death by his father, William Carstarphen, Sr. and niece, Zayma Hunt.

He was a member of the Church of God House of Deliverance, until he furthered his own ministry where he pastored his own church.

Darryl was a 1985 graduate of LeFlore Academy, where he graduated in the Fine Arts Department. Darryl loved art. He was an artist, and drew and painted many pictures and projects. 

He was an active employee at Phoneix, LLC. He was a former employee at Eagle Chemical Plant in Chicksaw, Alabama. He also worked at Scott Paper Company as an operations manager for 25 years.

Darryl was a great father, father-in-law, son, grandfather, brother, and uncle. 

He was an activist. He always stood up for what was right. He was a gentle giant, kind, fun, and very articulate. He was a hard worker and knew how to enjoy the fruits of his labor. 

Above all, He was a man of God. His goal was to tell everyone about sweet Jesus! He was a man of prayer and faith. He never met a stranger. He loved to minister to people by speaking words into their lives or by any other means that he could meet to show them the love of God and the power of God! 

There are Ten things that define Darryl: 1) He loved God, 2) He loved his sons, 3) He loved his mom and his family, 4) He was strong and independent, 5) He never gave up, 6) He always gave warm hugs, 7) he lit up any room with his smile, 8) He always kept things fun and exciting, 9) He was born with a heart of gold, and 10) He always saw the positive in any situation. 

Darryl always thought outside of the box. As a result of his generous spirit and outstanding personality, he was loved by many. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.
