It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria Jean Knight, a loving mother and devoted friend, who passed away on April 29, 2023, in Austell, Georgia, at the age of 74.
Born on October 3, 1948, in Mobile, Alabama, Gloria was a woman of great strength, resilience, and warmth. Gloria is survived by her mother, Georgia Dinkins; her three children: N'neka Cook, Jabari Cook, and Shayla Cook Cooley; and her beloved grandchildren Akeem Cook, Christina Cook Tuck, Alexis Grant, Ashtiny Cook, Isabella Cook, Delilah Cooley, Ethan Cook, and Monroe Cooley. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
A proud graduate of Mattie T. Blount High School in Prichard, Alabama, Gloria went on to have a successful career at Bell South,
where she ultimately retired.
Throughout her life, Gloria was known for her passion for cooking, her love of gardening, and her impeccable sense of fashion. Her vibrant personality and kind heart made her a joy to be around. Gloria, a self-proclaimed fashionista, always took pride in her appearance and loved shopping for the latest styles.
Her family and friends will fondly remember her dazzling outfits, beautiful accessories, and the confidence with which she carried herself. The funeral service for Gloria Jean Knight will take place on May 13, 2023, with a viewing on May 12, 2023.
The family requests that attendees dress in bright, fashionable attire to honor Gloria's love for all things stylish. The family welcomes flowers as a tribute to Gloria's memory.
Gloria's memory will live on through the cherished moments and stories shared by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
May she rest in peace and forever remain a shining light in the hearts of her loved ones.
