LaKeshia Yates-Spencer Obituary

Lakeshia Yvette Yates-Spencer was born on Sept. 19,1988. to Willie James Yates and Yolanda Yates of Mobile, Alabama. Lakeshia departed this life and entered into eternal rest on January 30, 2024.

Lakeshia was preceded in death by her Father, Willie James Yates; sister, Edna Gaillard; aunt, Johnnetta Webber; brother in law, Charles Spencer and mother in law, Theresa Slater, along with grand and great-grand parents.

Upon graduating from Lillie B. Williamson in 2007 where she was a member of JROTC all 4 years of high school. LaKeshia continued her education at Virginia College with a diploma in Business Administration. She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Keith Moore. Then she united with New Birth Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Jannie Jackson. She was a loving wife of 7 years. She lived her life to the fullest being a great mom, sister , niece,and great friend. Keshia is known by us and others be strong, diligent to finish strong in everything she did even through her illness.

She maintained her faith in God and her love to pursue obstacles in love. Even in her death her memory echos strength, love and family. She’s gone but NEVER Forgotten.  Her heart continues to beat while saving multiple lives. By honoring her organs, her heartbeat continues, her soul continues, her family continues to keep her name alive. She enjoyed the job of being a caregiver.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband, Charcello Spencer; one daughter, Zy’Keria Hudson; two sons, Zyon Spencer and Charcello Spencer Jr., mother, Yolanda Yates; sisters, Tara Yates, Windy Yates, Chantell (Joshua) Lewis, Crystal Yates, Shaquita, Tamega and Capria Lewis; one aunt, Brenda Portis; one devoted niece, Ja’Nya Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins, 4 sisters-in-laws, 5 brother-in laws and one longtime friend, Lashae Rivers.
