Leroy Alexander Gable was born on September 10, 1947 and departed this life on October 10, 2021. He loved God and family. He was full of humor and became known as the “king of swing”. He was a long time member of the Church of God House of Deliverance at 685 Donald Street. Leroy graduated from Central High School in 1966 and immediately joined the
United States Navy where he served four years. He was preceded in death by his father Leroy Gable, his stepfather James W. Boykin, his mother Viola (Donald) Powell and brother Peter Boykin.
Leroy leaves to cherish his memories his six children, Niquel Young, Leroy (Danielle) Gable, Jr., Vincent (Tamecia) Gable, Myron (Deanna) Gable, Roderick (Yulanda) Gable and Jermaine (Iquitta) Gable, seven sisters, Lynda B. Sidney of Kenner, La., Emily (Ronald) Tucker, Jerrilyn (Michael) Osifo, Deloris (Ralph) Neil, Mary (Carl) Trainor, Brenda (Jamie) Fore of Jacksonville, Fl., and Gloria (Dwhite) Smith, seven brothers, James Boykin, John (Joanna) Gable, Michael (Samantha) Gable, Rome Gable, James (Sharmicea) Gable, Willie Washington, and Roi Majid of Stockton, California, eighteen grandchildren, one great grand, a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and a special friend and mother of his children, Vivian Mitchell.
