Mr. Shelton Cornell Bettis, a native of Mobile, AL and was born on May 12,1962 to Delores and Bobby Spraglin.He graduated from Williamson High School in 1980. Shelton accepted Christ at an early age at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church. As a devoted man of God, he enjoyed reading and studying the bible and spreading his knowledge to the community of Maysville.
Shelton was a dedicated business entrepreneur for over 30 years in the Mobile area. He was a giant in the Maysville community. He had multiple local businesses like The Little Igloo (known for his famous Atlanta style buffalo wings). He hosted talent shows at the Harmon Recreational Center for the youth. His final business venue was his transportation service. Shelton was a great friend to many. He was always there for people to talk to and lend a helping hand. He loved talking to his children and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He would pick his grandchildren up and take them to Cici’s Pizza, the park, and let them shop until they dropped in the stores.
Mr.Bettis departed this life suddenly, on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Shelton was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Spraglin; grandparents, Frank and Gertrude Bettis, Frank and Mattie Spranglin, sister Erica Bettis and son Demarcus Bettis; aunts Geraldine and Marva Jean; and lifelong friends, Billy Bray, Carl Dooms.
He is survived by his wife,Tanya Bettis; mother, Delores Spraglin; brother, Kelsey (Carlene) Bettis; two sons, Shelton (Crystal) Carleton; JerMichael Bettis; daughter, Kudezyia Crenshaw; grandchildren, Daylon, Jayvon, Jae’lynn, Shelton Jr, Dae’Shawn; aunt, Arlene; uncles, Charles and Frankie Bettis; nephew Kelsey Bettis Jr.; special cousins, Janis and Sonja Bettis; and a host of family and friends.
