Sterling Erskin Jefferson Sr. was born on October 4, 1977 to the late Deacon James and Rev. Ora Lee Jefferson in Crichton, Alabama. He departed this life on August 10, 2022.
Sterling was a long time member of Greater Allenville A.O.H. Church of God. He grew up attending Sunday school, singing in the youth choir, serving on the Usher Board and playing the drums. He loved church and his church family.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Lizona Jefferson; two loving sons, Juwan (Aliyah) Gaynor and Sterling Jr.; and one loving daughter, Noelani Jefferson; two brothers, James (Trena) Jefferson Jr. of Dallas, TX, and Michael Jefferson of Mobile, AL; three grandchildren, Zayden, Ellie, and Emery Gaynor; one goddaughter, Ariel Enlers; He leaves behind a loving mother-in-law, Rev. Virginia Young and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and god siblings.
Sterling was a proud graduate of Mattie T. Blount High School, Class of 1997. Sterling worked as a Truck Driver for the last 7 1/2 years. He loved being behind the wheel whether it was working or a road trip with his family. He had a strong love for his family. He loved to smile and laugh while making and make others do the same. He never met a stranger and would spark conversations with anyone he came in contact with.
